Beech is the most widespread forest species in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the species we use most in producing our massive boards. It grows into a large tree up to 40 m in height with smooth gray bark, a broad crown, and rich leaves that change color from spring green to autumn copper.
Few plants, except mushrooms, will survive under a beech tree because of the dense canopy that casts a shadow around it.
